    Hi there,

has anyone ever played the Thunderbird Studio 5? I can't find any useful infromation on the web and I'm not aware of any reviews of that bass.

How's playability? How's the B-String? How's the sound, especially compared to the "classic" T-Birds?

I love my Epi T-Bird, but want to get me a five-string soon. So I might just as well go for the T-Bird 5.

    Thanks for any comments!

I haven“t played it, but yesterday we finished a small session, and we used 4-string T-bird with low tuning, and it worked fine.

    that just killed me

  9. The tuners are Hipshot style Ultralites on the Studio Tbirds, it will be lighter..

. No they havent shipped any yet, and I doubt they will cause the look of Studio's is pretty different from the standard Tbird. And from what I've heard, many people dont approve of the looks. Gibson are making a lot of bad bass choices IMO...

I don't think the studio 5's look bad at all from the pics I've seen. The Fiend is showing the ebony ones shipping in January. The headstock is a 4/1 setup, so isn't any longer (at least by much) than the studio 4 version.
