Not buying a black RD artist that was in the Sam Ash Hempstead, Long Island store circa 1978-79 is the biggest bass-buying regret of my life.
I kept thinking she would always be there waiting for me, yet, she married another.
What an instrument that was !!!

I have a 70's (i think) Avon cheap copy of a ripper if that counts! Its in my attic, and I'm amazed that my ceiling hasn't come down yet because its the most heavy, hard to play bass I've ever owned... I did get it for £20 at a car boot sale in Wales though... and it has a sliding pickup! LOL

Shame its in bad condition. I think the neck is being held on with woodscrews that are twice as long as they should be... And I painted the headstock black with a brush (

I'd have to research that one. I was too young to care at that point.
