It's pretty scare that such a hot chick could kick my ass with one arm. I don't think I like it.

I think I like it...

she got finished in the first round :(

Carano straight-up gassed out midway through the first round. I think she just curled up in a ball at the end because she just didn't have anything else left. She appeared to have the skill to hang with Cyborg (since Cyborg couldn't seem to finish anything she tried to sink in as far as her jiu-jitsu went) but not the conditioning. She wasn't phased by Cyborg's initial flurry and she did a good job getting on top of Cyborg in her first two takedowns and she passed her guard on the second but couldn't turn it into anything.

It's always disappointing to see a hyped fight between skilled fighters and then one of them ends up not even having the conditioning to make it through one round. Almost reminds me of a couple of BJ Penn's past fights.

I agree with you. I just watched the fight c/o the YouTube link. Carano just looked really tired yet was able to get out of a lot of what Cyborg was going for.

Cyborg walked through so many of her punches though. To the point where it seemed like she didn't even feel them.

I'd like to see them fight again in 6 months.

Long time MMA fan, (since UFC 1 that I saw when I was a kid)
It's my First MMA womens fight.I don't know them really well but I must ask.

Why in the hell would Carano STAND UP WHILE IN THE FULL MOUNT!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't get that one?!?!?!
And she gassed in under 3 mins, I'm sorry but that is pathetic for a pro athlete.

I've seen a bunch (they used to have them on Bodog fight a lot). Two things to consider. She may have gotten out of the mount because she thought Cyborg was going for a submission, and Cyborg's a great BJJ fighter. Not smart, but maybe that's what she thought was happening. And this was her first five minute fight. Up until a month or two ago, women were forced to do only 3 minute rounds. Not really an excuse because she probably knew about it a month or more ahead of time, but knowing something and truly being prepared for it can be different things.

Ok, I get the adaptation to get from 3 to 5 mins rounds, but she without a doubt knew about that WAY BEFORE the fight .

I'd like to see Tara Larosa go up 10 pounds and beat them both. Carano gets a lot of attention, but Larosa has been beating everyone's rear for forever now.

I'd like to see Fujii pack on 20 pounds and whomp them all.

That said, wow, Cyborg dominated that fight. Watching them exchange, I'm amazed at how much more hand speed and power Cyborg has. Carano's strikes looked like love taps in comparison.

Cyborg definitely has more powerful punches but neither woman really seemed that affected by the other's punches. Neither seemed to be in any danger of being knocked out.

lol... any big time wnba fans here?

not to be a misogynist, but the ufc (yeah, i know, not the only game in town [yeah... **** dana]) has said they wont do womens fights because of limited talent. hmm... afflictiion dead... k1? sodokhijuo (or whatever)... i forget the other decent sized ones, but i doubt women mma will be that big. gina is so so so so so hot, but who here has placed a bet on womens pro boxing? yeah...

i hope her hot self wins and takes no face shots, aside from.... err... yeah, i might snag this one fight.
