GK 400RB 4 vs 8 Ohm & HPF query ?

If a 1x12 at 8 ohms is holding up

Then a 8ohm 15 and all its midrange magic would be just fine for the sound pressure or levels needed. And offers even more efficiency and overhead than a single 12

Likewise 8 ohm leaves more options in the future

OP here .. earlier post suggests I get a more efficient cab like a 212, well I already have one Bagend D12-D & S12 (diy) but it's a bit too heavy lol hence the quest for a lighter solution .. 4 Ohm 115 maybe ? Faital looks a good option & I believe Mesa Subway use them so must be decent. I've nearly completed it but have not as yet bought the driver .. I could still go for 8 Ohm & leave my diy Bagend 112 in the car in case I need it ..?
Just wanted to see if anyone has tried just a single 15 with the 400RB, don't forget I'm not after a clean tone, some grind/grit is wanted but not full on distortion.
4 string standard tuning btw ..
The 112 at rehearsal was loud but not much bass me thinks & in small room so not a good scenario really .. thanks again for commenting & opinions, I'm taking it all in :)

curious if you've had any luck with your 400rb and a single 15. Im thinking about running a 400RB into a Mesa Subway 115 and came across this thread.

You will probably be fine as I've heard that the Mesa cabs are real quality & I believe they use the same (albeit 8 Ohm) driver
I never actually gigged mine before I sold it though, I made a real nice combo but it was just too heavy ….

Not a problem, it will work fine.

You believe wrong. The drivers are not the same, in fact they are very different.
