GK 400RB II questions

I was playing a GK 700RB II at Guitar Center today, and I liked the sound. I can't afford it though, and I was looking at the GK 400RB II next to it. I was pressed for time and it wasn't hooked up, so I never got a chance to play around with it.

I'm just wondering how the sound between the 700RB-II and the 400RB-II compares? As far as I know, they're the same, just different wattages.

Also, how would you guys describe the sound of the Genz-Benz Shuttle in comparison to the RB series? I have a lot of interest in the Shuttle, but I cannot find one anywhere.

So thanks for any help, and is $379 (used) a decent price for the 400RB II?

IMHO, the sound between the 400 and the 700 is a lot closer than the sound of the 700 to the 1001.

379 used is entirely too much. Call RMC Audio for a quote on a new 400rbIV.... I believe it's only about 50 bucks more than the used 400 you're looking at. I believe the IV has increased power over the II.

GK amps are the epitomy of punch. In fact some will say that is why they sound so loud and the specs are underrated. I play the 700rbII, and no matter how I eq it, that inherent punch is still there. I love how the right amount of boost warms up the lowend. It's like the "magic knob". You won't get the HMS (biamp) with the 400, but you may not miss it..... just turn down the tweeter on your cab a bit. Add a GK112 Neo, or the 210 Neo, and I think you'll be impressed. You can add another cabinet later, and I think you'll be able to cover everything but the really big gigs (and then you'd probably have PA support). A lot of folks say the 400 is the best amp they ever owned.

I haven't played the Shuttle, so I can't say it's any more or less punchy.
