Hi guys,

I need a case for my 800RB head. I've been starting to gig a lot more and I need something to carry my beloved head from any bad lucks. Is there any soft cases available? I also read that road cases were a good choice. If I choose a road case, what size should I buy?

When I got my used head, the owner told me that he made some drilled holes when he used it with a road case. I wonder if those could be compatible so I could not buy these:

Anyway, suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I have one and use an SKB short rack (effects rack). It works just fine.
The 800RB is convection cooled and needs a constant flow of cooling air across the fins at the back. I would advise a 4U shallow case with the amp in the centre two positions. The open top and bottom positions could be filedl with ventilated panels for the sake of appearance.
I keep my 700RB-II in an SKB 4U short case. I haven't had any issues, and keep it in the bottom two spaces with a power conditioner and tuner above it.

You could get by with an SKB 3U shallow X-Rack. That's what I had mine in for quite a few years of fairly heavy usage and the amp seemed to be able to breath well enough. The SKB 3U X-Rack is really a perfect fit for the 800RB ... there's some room on the top and bottom of the amp for air flow and the back is open and deep enough to be able to leave the IEC power cable plugged in even with the covers on for transport.

I have a 3u rack bag that I'm not going to use (it's blue, says "Abe Music" on a pocket on the side) but you'd be better off finding something local vs. paying for shipping to Canada.

When I get my own wireless I plan on getting either a 4 or 5 space shallow road case. A 6u case would be ideal but it starts getting kinda large at that point.

Best of luck...

Raz

I have an old 800rb , and cannot get the side panel rack mounts , will not accept the small rack ears. The guy who I got it from for some reason took the handle off , so I carry it around in my arms .

I just ordered one of these cases, hope it is heavy duty enough. Just want it for transporting , don't need to rack mount it. I liked the foam included.

I went with the 4 space SKB too... the cheaper model... well, whatever was the cheaper model 10 years ago! I ran 8 ohm cabs and had a problem with the cables not being able to sit properly in the jacks due to the extended inner edge of the back of the rack. I solved that with a utility knife and it didn't affect the rack at all.

pics... the 13 yr old workhorse and the pic of the cutout i made to accommodate the cables.
