GK head with Avatar or Ashdown Cab?

I have an opportunity to get either a pre-owned Ashdown 410T (600 watts) or Avatar B410 Neo (1,000 watts) at roughly the same price and I was wondering on opinions of how well these would go with a GK 700RBII head. Both cabs are 8 ohms and I already have a 1x15 Carvin cab (8 ohms 400 watts) when I need to add another cab for a bigger venue. I play a P/J active bass and play indie/alternative rock. I have to make a decision quick and I will get a chance to play which ever I chose but they are both a far drive to test and I wanted to get any advice/opinions on here from the TB gurus. Thanks.

I have been using a GK 700RB II for a couple of years now. I had an Ashdown 410T with it for a few months and just couldn't get what I was looking for from it. I have recently started using the 700RB with an Avatar B212 NEO. Even though its not a 410, the 700RB seams to be a good match for the Avatar. I have also run the 700RB with an SWR 410 and an Ampeg 610 and I know the amp will do great with anything. I understand that you are comparing 410's. If that is what you are looking for for your style I would go with the Avatar B410 NEO. Personally, since I have gone to 212's I may never look back. Good luck.

IME - that amp play's well with most cabinets. No experience with the Ashdown so I can't say there. The Avatar has a slightly 'loose' low end and that plays well with the uber tight GK low end. Nice warm'ish setup. So GK & Avatar I would be real comfortable with. I'm not real high on 4x10's in general though. Like a poster above, I dig the 2x12. 2 1x15's works for me as well. A good 1x15 and 2x10 combo of well matched cab's can be sweet. 4x10's can get loud for sure tonally I rarely like them though.

Thanks for the opinions. I hope I can't go wrong with either choice, but I'm confident with the Avatar reviews, less confident with Ashdown (in terms of tone, not quality). It will probably come down to the logitics of which seller is available (I've been working on buying from one guy for a week and a half!!! craigslist...:hmm:)
