GK MB200 Go Boom. Pants go Brown.

Hey all...
Here's a new one...I plugged in a BRAND NEW, straight from the factory, out of the carton GK MB200, and POW! Literally almost turtled myself....familiar smell. Not me; the amp! Power Amp go boom. Anyone ever replace one before, and was it difficult? I did some snooping, and found the power amp here:

This ever happen to anyone before? And, YES, before y'all comment to " Send it back", as I already did... I explained the situation to Sweetwater, and they took care of me, 100%. Replaced, free of charge!
I would have a qualified tech do this.

Beuller? Anyon. Otherwise, I have a shiny silver GK Paperweight200! Or, a 100$ project for someone, if they wanted it. Like....new.

You bought it new from the factory and you are looking at repairing it yourself? Why not contact them about warranty repair/replacement?

Note that there are counterfeit modules in this series from China ... they were never made in China.

I would have a qualified tech do this.

If having a Qualified Tech do this, let them use their own parts. They will be able to get what is needed through their supplier or the shelf behind them.
it also may not be what you bring them. Now you also have an unmounted power amp that is unusable to you.

If it's brand new-send it back and get a new one.

A bit confused here. Are you saying that Sweetwater already sent you a new amp and let you keep this one, which you'd like to repair? Or you'd like to sell this one to someone else to repair? Or did the Sweetwater thing happen in the past hour since you posted the original message asking about repair?

Yes, they did! They were and are amazing with customer service!! However, I am left with an extra blown amp and want to get it in service.

AgedHorse, yes, 100% I am going to contact them and hopefully they won't ask me to go back to the dealer, since they already replaced it. If they do, I am just trying to get a backup plan if GK won't fix it. I am more than happy to pay them to do so if need be.

I am also trying to see if anyone else might have had this issue.

I'll answer your question, since it's only six screws to remove.
I don't really understand the point of your post.
Mine was made in 2017.

Ok...here's the dealio...Sweetwater sent me a new replacement amp (they were AWESOME) and told me to just keep the old one. So, I have one to either see if:
A) GK is willing to fix it. If so, off she goes. If not,

B) Get the correct power amp and bring it to a qualified technician and have them replace it, and any other components and pay for that. Then

C: Sell it at a loss here and fully repaired since I ready have one, or:

D: sell her as is for a hundo "as is" to let someone else handle it. Kind of busy during this time of the year.

Sorry for the confusion! That was the point of my incredibly inept way to ask the question.

Suspecting the power amp is probably a good guess, but it's still a guess. Also, something else might have caused the failure.

I kind of have a feeling that the amp isn't covered by warranty, since it was replaced under warranty.

Since Sweetwater replaced it I'd cut my losses and sell it off as parts. The inside of that amp is a tight space, not somewhere I'd venture into if I had it . Gone are the days when you could just replace a tube in my B-15N. If there's something else wrong in the 200MB's circuit path you'd be sending good money after bad. Just my take of course.

I can put it next to my OTHER Brown Pants amp, a BAM. Deader than a buzzard's hide. Blew up with that particular pop and smell.
