GK MB500 - Speaker Output & Ohms

Hi Guys now I got my GK MB500, and i got some questions that maybe you can help me


1) how are the Speaker Outputs setup?? Parallel or Serial ?

2) how can i get 500W with Two speakers???

( Because 500w 4ohms / 350 8ohms )

3) In case that i connect an Ampeg speaker that got a "Bridge" input in the back to connect two speakers through the same amp output instead to use two.....
Can this type of output be use in the GK MB500 ???

1) I don't think series/parallel applies to the speaker outputs, at least on this amp.

2) Two 8ohm speaker cabinets equals a total impedance of 4ohms giving you the full 500 watt output.

3) I do not understand question 3)

One 4ohm speaker cabinet will get you 500 watts. DO NOT EVER USE TWO 4OHM CABINETS!! This will bring the impedance up to 2ohms which this amp is not meant to be run at!!

3) You can either use both connectors on the amp or chain from one cab to the other. It is the same either way.

You don't calculate the ohms in the amp. The amp can not have a load attached that goes less than 4 ohms. 4 ohms of cabs, 8 ohm cab even 16 ohm cab is fine. The stickies at the top of the forum have load (ohms) calculators to use for what speaker impedance will be with parallel and series.
 
Yes the MB500 is an honest 500 watts rms at 4 ohms and more on sustained burst. You will get 500 clean watts rms when you have the master up enough and a strong enough signal going in.
Learn now though watts do not make ANY sound, the speakers make sound. 300 watts into two (12") speakers will be louder than 500 watts into one (12") or any other speaker size you choose to inject.

You don't have to "calculate" anything to know that. The spec sheet lists "500 watts at 4 ohms". There's your sign. :)

As to your question about speaker config, read the FAQ first. It's one of the 3 sticky threads at the very top.

If you read the 1st link of the FAQ, which explains impedance, you'll see this:

Most cabinets are designed to be “daisy chained” together. On the back of the cabinet you’ll probably see 2 ¼ inputs labeled “parallel inputs”. This is the most common method of “daisy chaining” cabinets together. Almost always this results in the cabinets being run together in parallel. You may want to check with a particular brand of speaker, but I’ve never run across a cabinet that daisy chains in series.

A solid state amp, head, or combo, will have speaker outs on the back of it. Combos may not have any speaker outs, and this is generally because they are already running at their minimum safe load. A head or power amp with more than one speaker output, (per side if stereo - see below), will almost always have those outputs run in parallel, (but as always, check if you’re not sure).
 
Quick question so 2 X 8ohm speakers plugged in (one each speakon output on the mb500) totals 4ohm that's 500w total, Is that 250w to each speaker?
