GK Plex w/Non-GK Power Supply Issues Still?

Yeah its a bummer. I've asked @rag a bunch of times about updates to the Piex.Updates that Robert himself said were upcoming.I've even started Plex wishlist features threads and nothing. There doesn't seem to be much interest lately but I do seem to remember that the power supply issue that you mentioned was still occurring. Sorry.

Well, that's certainly disappointing to hear, but thanks for responding!

I've been a dedicated GK user for *decades* now, and absolutely love my (2) 800RBs and my 400RB. But as I'm getting close to 70 years old, the process of downsizing my rig is getting more and more important. When I heard that the Plex could duplicate the sound and tone of the 800RB, I began thinking about moving to a pedalboard-based rig, and the Plex would allow me to leave the much larger 800RB at home, and adding it to a pedalboard that fits into a trunk-on-wheels (which I already drag around with me anyway) is very appealing! ;-)

I still have my sights set on the Plex, and will save space for it on the new pedalboard I'm currently designing, simply because the size and weight are still major benefits to me at this point. But it's disappointing to know that I'll probably still have to use the separate GK power supply instead of having a fully-contained and powered pegalboard rig. :-(

Anyway, thanks so much for the update!!

I agree. I've been a GK user for years! With big heavy amps seeming to lose some popularity and folks downsizing to pedal preamps , I would have thought more attention would have been paid to the Plex? It really is a neat piece of gear. A few tweaks would make it even better!

Yeah, I'm aware of the 9v 500mA power requirement for the Plex, and both the 500mA from the Strymon, or the 660mA from the Cioks/Eventide units *should* be adequate to properly power the Plex. (?)

I'm not sure if those having problems were trying to power them with less than 500mA or not. I suppose that might have been part of their problems. If I get time, I might try searching thru the past threads to see if those having problems were aware of the 500mA requirement.
