GK tone in a pedal?

+1 on the idea of a Tech 21 'GK' - the 'Los Angeles' perhaps? Or, simply, the 'GK Bass'?

Tech 21 sell way more pedals to bass players than to guitarists so it would make sense to expand the Character Series to include other bass specific models. Here's hoping....

I'm not sure if the backline sounds like GK's RB series...I've never heard one. If it does, please share your MXR EQ settings.

You can't write this idea off. I've plugged into an amp from my iphone, bass into iRig Amplitube using the Fender tube amp emulation and it sounds great! Perfect for when I go to hourly rehearsal studios and I don't like the sound of the provided equipment.

I am behind the times and have zero experience with the newer RB series.

On my M-108, have the 31Hz setting at -6: it is below my E string's frequency so I cut it to clean up my low end harmonics. I slightly boost the mids gradually up to +6, an unhappy smile. I kill my 16kHz setting at -12. My Backline 210 cannot produce those frequencies any who. Through the PA system at one of the churches I play, I fiddle with the gain until it sounds right.

I've never sensed any particular flavor in the Backline. Nothing that screams "This is GK tone."

Fernandes fretless P/J

when amp'd: GK Backline 210, SA Phaser & Flanger in FX loop
when PA direct: MXR M-108 EQ, SA Phaser & Flanger

But, I just received an FEA Growler and after playing around for over an hour with it today, it is causing me to re-order my simple FX chain.

I cannot wait to try the Growler in the FX loop my Backline 210 -- which currently lives at the second of two churches I play at each weekend.

Thank you. I'll try out your settings. I don't have an MXR EQ, but I do have an old DOD one. I also have a Zoom B2 pedal...I can get close to a GK tone with that--but not quite there. So, if anyone has suggested settings for the Zoom...please post.
