I had Pure Blues on my Fender P but wanted to try flats for the first time. Guy in a shop recommended D'Addario nickel flats. Didn't take to them though I really tried. A few months later and it's too much and I start to order some more Pure Blues when I think "those TB guys keep talking about LaBella. Maybe there's a difference". 24 hours after putting them on I'm thinking I may never take them off. The differences are subtle but enough to give me a nicer feel and more organic sound. Glad I finally listened to you guys. Thanks. :)

There is no such thing as "D'Addario nickel flats". Their flatwound is stainless steel and called "Chromes Flatwound". D'Addario Half Rounds (groundwound) are pure nickel. Maybe the guy in the shop got the two mixed up?

Half-rounds generally get mixed reviews; some love them, some hate them. It's one of those things. ;)

Sorry, you're absolutely right. But they weren't the half-rounds. They were Chromes! Just didn't work for me.
