Thanks @vid1900. I've really enjoyed this thread. I'm new to bass guitar and pulled the trigger on this model (burlywood finish) after reading through your review/setup. Music has always been a big part of my life, but I never really seriously considered playing until recently. I love to tinker and work with my hands - and have a soft spot for bass guitar - so I figured that this would be an inexpensive way to get my feet wet. Ill put some work in practicing over the next few months, and if the string spacing is a problem for me I will probably end up swapping the bridge out, same as you. Wilkinson offers the same bridge model, but in black. I think it would look really sharp against the natural "burlywood finish." Anyway, thanks for the entertaining thread. Hopefully all of you will see me around these forums more often!
Thank you for showing your work in such detail! I'm about to change out the preamp on my Glarry 5 and it was tremendously helpful to see your process. I'm using a Tone Monster Preamp with a stacked Treble/Bass control so I also get control of the Mids. I'm excited to hear how it sounds.
16mm from the factory, although I popped in an 18mm bridge without any problems:
