Because I've been flirting with migrating to short-scale, and it's stupid to spend money on a short-scale fretless when I can convert a long-scale to short and get an additional four "frets" on the top end to boot.

I just ordered one on Amazon, just for curiosity. I've got a Precision, Jazz, Mustang, and a Fretless Jazz neck on a no-name semi-hollow P-J body… but I'm intrigued to see what a $100 bass ($93 + sales tax) is like.
