At least in NJ, you can find full or part-time work pretty easy (well not so much now, but it can't stay that way forever) and plenty of bands and venues. And if you are as dedicated as you say you are, you will find a way to make it work. You would not be the first person to make this move. I know quite a few first and second generation immigrants, and usually depending on their education and work ethic the can live nicely.

Start a journal, for sure. If you feel so inclined, write a book about your experiences. One of my favorite books to this day is called "Amped" by Jon Resh, it chronicles the difficulties and common situations that just about every touring band goes through trying to make it. It is a good read. Maybe there is reality show material here?

Whatever you do, do it because you want it. Godspeed, sir.

about illegal : no, i won't be illegal alien, i have visa

about school : it's complicated, as i have sad, i don't think that financial/economic situation in this country will be stable for next 1-2 years. 6 months tops. inflation is comming, hyperinflation. currency will go down when compared to dollar. if i for example could exchange my 20 000 kns for around 4000$, if devaluation comes, ill be happy to get like 2000$. in other words my money will be half the value. and no i don't have all of the money i plan to have as backup and starting capital now so i can't exchange it all for $. i work so i get paid every month. and intend to do it for the next 5-6 months.

that's the reason. i'm scared.

not a little but whola lotta! as i have said, it was a shock, everything i thought i knew was wrong. most of the differences were positive, rest of them were subjectively worse and a small number of stuff was objectively worse. heck, that's a good deal, right?

For those of you who obviously aren't interested in reading his previous posts, here's a recap.
He's fleeing an oppressive system with a crap economy to go where he can be creative and have a chance of doing what he really wants to.
His degree, should he finish school where he is, would be nearly worthless.
He's been here before.
He has a job lined up that will feed him and keep a roof over his head.
The man has clearly thought this through.

America is built on people with dreams that are willing to work for them. Sadly, most Americans have forgotten that. This country has it's challenges and hardships like anyother, but if you're willing to work hard, take risk and sacrafice; anything is possible.

I wish you the best of luck. Boston is a cool town. Keep a red sox hat on and you should be ok :) Also, as an immigrant, there are programs to help you start a business here. You should look into that and take every opprotunity you can to make it.
