Going to Denver

Hey anyone have any good suggestions for places to check out basses in Denver?

There used to be an all bass store called "First Bass" but that was a long time ago. I am told it's no longer around.

Any suggestions? Any good Pawn shops that have a lot of instruments?

I know there was a place called "Guitar X" but that is no longer around. IMO, Denver doesn't have a large enough market to support a "bass only" gear store.

First Bass is long gone, I'm afraid.

If there's any decent place to go bass shopping near Denver, I'm certainly not aware of it.

Maybe ping "sunbeast" (Karl), he may have some suggestions.

no real high end bass stores that i'm aware of. spotlight music in ft. collins is pretty rocking though. a nice selection of fenders, ibanez, dean, esp, etc. unfortunatly the music store i work at hasn't got anything good for basses

Thanks for the info. I will be checking them out if I get a chance. Any good Pawn shops that tend to have a lot on instruments? There always seems to be one or 2 shops in most cities that have a lot of instruments.

You aren't missing much with "first bass" being gone. The guy who ran it was a real charmer.......

My in-laws live just south of Denver, and last time I was there I grabbed the yellow pages from the phone book. I checked out a bunch of places...didn't seem like there was anything particularly high-end or specialty, but seemed like there was enough stuff to get me in trouble.

The website is less than helpful but I hear they have a bunch of high end pedals. But, I have yet to actually go there. RMay may be right about the actual store no longer being there as the website does not list a store/mailing list...

The joints mentioned above are/were all near my home, and unless things have changed, are not worth visiting.

GuitarX is gone from the Broadway location. I don't see any new address on the website, either. He did have some nice upscale bass gear, tho.

I'd say if coming to Denver, forget bass hunting and get out to Red Rocks Ampitheater for a show or two. I promise you, the place is seriously magical.
