I just loaded UbuntuStudio 14.03, and watched all the Ardour tutorials I could find on the web. Most of them don't get into the interface hardware, so I'm asking for ideas.
I will be doing mostly overdubs. My bandleader writes songs, and sends us demo versions to get acquainted with between practices. I'd like to play bass lines along with the demos and record them so I can listen to a playback of the whole song and evaluate. I'm guessing this can be done with a fairly simple setup, just a box to plug my bass into that goes to the computer. Will have to be Linux compatible.
