Going to York U in Toronto in Jazz programme

Hi,

Going to York U in the Jazz programme and looking to buy an acoutstic DB and an electric upright bass.

Price is a factor though I need something that I can practice and perform on that will do the job.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I would raher try before I buy.
