Gone! 97 jazz in WA

My 97 MIA jazz (inca silver, maple board) disappeared from a show on harstene island the first weekend of may. I have been looking for it ever since. Most of the people at the show were from the south puget sound area. It has a j-retro, nordstrand nj4se p/ups and a black pearloid pickguard (not pictured). Any information on the whereabouts of my baby would be much appreciated, and if found monetary reward is possible.

Okay...so I posted this thread a few days ago in a last ditch effort and the strangest thing happened. Last night I got a call from a friend saying he had an american jazz bass for sale for $500, which is cheap and I was looking for a new one anyway. I get to the guys house....and its my bass. The one that went missing in May. So, now I have to buy it back for $400 (the guy bought it from pawn xchange for $250...what a steal). BUT its way better than having to start all over from scratch. I am happy now.

a friend; even if just casual, would return it at cost; or maybe just return it as an offering to the good kharma dogs.. I mean gods..

sheesh.. profiting by re-victimizing the victim..lame.

I am however happy for you that your bass is home, which is of course the good news. You are among the 3% who defy the odds!

Man, you need some better friends...
That is a little bit too much of a coincidence that your friend (who's willing to make $150 on you) just happened to be the one to buy it at a pawn shop. A bass like that priced at $250 would last maybe half a day once it hits the floor at a pawn shop, meaning he'd have to have visited the store (by coincidence) within hours of when that bass was put out for sale. I'd ask him to see the receipt. You could also bring it in, and they'd have a record of if they'd ever had it or not. Something is stinks, he may have even pawned it, and just got it back...

Yeah dude, if you reported it stolen go back to the pawn shop and have them pull the pawn ticket and the cops gets to just hand your bass back to you. Your friends 250 is gone (unless the pawn shop refunds) and you don't have to pay anyone a dime.

Tell him you are going to the pawn shop after you call the police.

Too much of a coincidence.

Hey buddy......I remember that bass!!! That's my old bass that I sold to you. :D

What Pawn Exchange did he buy it from? I check out all the pawn shops around here, and I never saw that one for sale. I'm not saying I'm the authority on all pawn shops in Washington state, but if he says he got it from one of the ones I go to, I would know.

Yeah I gotta agree with everyone else here...something is rotten with your friend. If I did happen upon a sweet bass like that in a pawn shop for (gasp!) $250 and my friend had lost it; I would eat the money and give it back to him no charge. But I'm a huge believer in karma and I think that kind of karma is a lot more valuable than a mere $250. But yeah...your friend is up to no good. Just my $.02

Well Rumblee I'm glad you got your bass back. Although I do agree with the people on this post about your "buddy" I have to say sometimes ya just gotta let stuff go.

Like you said, paying a few hundred is better than starting over. But is it worth your time to pursue this further? Thats what you have to decide.

IMO, enjoy your bass and distance yourself from that buddy!
