Good 5-string basses

I play a 4-string peavey millenium right now and want a five string. So requirements: must be active, not a fender/squier, and must be under $450. I have been looking at the Schecter Omen-5 (first link) in the walnut satin finish. Ive also been looking at the ESP/LTD D-5 (second link) and that seems pretty nice also, except that the scale is only 34" long. I would want a 35" long 5 string bass for the low B-string. Please tell me if these are good or not. Also if you have any other ideas please tell me, and post a link with them, thank you.

I played one of those LTD D5s recently, I'd say it's a pretty nice instrument for the money. Don't let the scale length take you in, there are other factors that go in to a good low B string. I've never played a Schecter Omen 5 only the stiletto series, I wasn't so impressed by the Schecters.

Plus I love the look of the LTD, I'm a sucker for fancy woods.

You can probably get a used Peavey Cirrus BXP within your budget. Check out the Ibanez BTB series, they meet all your criteria as well.

Ever look at any of Ibanez's SR basses? They're in that price range, and have a very nice feel, and sound.

I picked up one of these well under the price range you have to work with and have been happy with it.
