I use an OC-2 for octave down and a PS-6 for octave up, 5th up, 7th up, crazy whammyish effects and dive bombs. The PS-6 is a really fun and usefull pedal I don't know why it's not more popular around here but I really like it. For a really big sound you can run the OC-2 with the octave down cranked and dry at about noon into the octave up of the PS-6 blend on about noonish or 11ish, throw some dirt in there and it gets BIG.

I'm looking for an octave pedal that tracks well and also has a good sounding octave above. any thoughts as to what i should try?

YES ME TOO! I wish I had an answer for you. Looks like others have made some suggestions on here.
Glad other bassists like us are asking this question! Why is it that most octavers only track and produce an octave below? I have the ZOOM B3 and I have yet to get it to track above. Of course being a five string player with the low B string, I would rather have an octave track above, rather than below, as an octave below that low B is just mud!
I am also wondering about the Electro Harmonix B9 Organ pedal for a bass guitar and the Pitch Fork for bass.........????
And what expression pedal could be used with the ZOOM B3?

I bought the MXR Bass Octave Deluxe over the weekend. Was a battle between either that or the envelope filter...the octave won. My girlfriend was not amused of my choice predicament. Sounds great so far though. The octave down serves my purposes just fine.

No it doesn't, but for me I use the octave pedal for the below octave side of it as I want to increase the bottom on certain sections when I use it.

I've always found the Pitchfactor to be the best octave up pedal. It sounds great, easy to use and lots of options.

ITs really hard to beat the POG or POG2 for octave up. If you are looking to spend that much though, you could just get the DigiTech Bass Whammy. Lots of really cool and good octave choices there. Plus a lot more
