Have you ever played through one?
:rollno:
No... unfortunately I never had the good fortune to come across one 8x10...
Though I played once in the 4x10 and that was a great moment. Even if I didn't have my dear Sadowsky at that time and the modern SR EMG tone was quite strange through the vintage amp...
But I sure loved it!
Now, unless I win the lottery and become insanely rich, I won't buy one.
I just don't need it!
My Trace Elliot combo is gathering dust in the studio, I use it 2 or 3 times a year and more because I miss it than because I need it!
The fact is, I could perfectly do with no amp at all, it's a little sad, but that's the way world goes...
As I said before:
The time of kemper and helix has come...
;)

Go ahead, you know you want one:bassist: The only time you'd regret is when the rest of the band scatters when you need a hand moving it:laugh:.

I suppose a thing to consider is what style of bass people are playing in this hypothetical. I have basses that have different fret heights and neck shapes that help or impede playing certain parts.

Consider your very first bass and how great it probably seemed. I had an Epiphone Viola Bass , which is not the cheapest bass, and I think I could play a gig with that if I had to. My first acoustic guitar though was dogpile and nearly impossible to play in tune.

My friend had a Samick Pbass, and playing around on that was so fun. Frets that don’t slice your fingers up and good action go along way, and at least you can easily adjust your bridge action as a novice.
