Good Beginner's Multi-Effects Pedal

Zoom B2.1 or 2.1u (u = expression pedal)

Kinda like the PODxt by Line 6 but cheaper, and easier to use IMO. I sorta wish I had gone that route instead of the POD. More compact, and just as good sound wise. And you can have the wah/autowah before or after the OD/Dists!!! Look up the Zoom 2.1 sound sample thread by fourstringbliss for some awesome samples.

.... and don't overlook the Zoom BFX708!

Yes, I know it is made of plastic, but as long as you treat it with due respect and are careful not to tread on the input and output jacks... (In other words keep it out of the way while your drummer stes up!), it will offer reliable service.

Most of the effects are useable straight out of the box and the unit is a snap to tweak.
I have gigged mine for about four years with no problems at all.

They can be picked up on E-Bay for pennies, but don't let that put you off.
