Good cd burning software?

how sophisticated do you need it? because if all you want to do is burn a CD. WMP is right there (asumming you have Windows) and you can't get any easier than that. maybe you should tell us a little bit more about what you expect from your burning software.

as far as dithering goes i'm not real sure as none of the programs i have have that option. the space thing i do know that Nero (i have Nero Express) has this capability. i've never used it though, so i'm not sure how well it works. Nero says it only removes 2 seconds. my guess is if you want expert like features you're going to need to pay a good price for something. maybe someone else has the low down on something.

I use DSP-Quattro for any of my serious CD burning. I build the track listing my appending the individual songs to a master aiff file, separating them with generic markers, and when I am happy with the track splits I convert them to regions, make a playlist from the regions, manage any crossfades, and burn. The burn process creates a sd2f image file so you can use Toast or whatever other burner to make more copies.

I have also used the Toast/Jam process and it automates things a bit. Both work well but I am more comfortable working in DSPQ.
