You do realize, I hope, that effects pedals go in front of the amp not in the line level Effects Loop. That's only for rack effects.

Um, what? I always use an effects loop for anything I don't want to push my preamp with. Some reverbs have a good bit of boost to them. For example, I had an Old Blood Darkstar V1 (before the internal level trim pot). When I used it for guitar and ran it through the effect loop of my guitar head, no issue. However, when I ran it through the front of my Ampeg, I got clipping, which I am trying to avoid.
