Double Bass Good keyboard under $500

I realized the other day that I don't have a keyboard that is useful in my studio anymore. Farfisa isn't cutting it, I sold the Piano, the Rhodes and the Dx7. Haven't bought any keyboards in a long time. I'd like recommendations for something under $500, used preferably, that has a decent pianoish feel and a good piano sound. Other sounds are nice but not required. What are my options these days?

Have you thought about buying a MIDI controller, or even just a cheap but good-feeling digital piano, and using software synths?
