Double Bass good low-B for magnetic pickups?

Hi folks.

I have a Bassix 5 string EUB (and I'm a beginner, so I know nothing much about EUB's in general)

I have noticed that the low-B is much quieter than the other strings, and I know that the strings it came with were a set of 4 (E-G), but a different, separate low-B (it has windings of a different color to the rest). I suspect therefore that it has different magnetic properties to the other strings, and this is the source of the problem.

I cannot afford to buy a complete new set of strings at the moment to form a matching set, so I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a flatwound metal standard 42" scale string, which can be purchased individually as a low-B, and crucially has particularly strong/good magnetic properties for use with mag pick-ups.

Thank you.
William
