Even a brand new Squier Classic Vibe P-bass would be a good investment even if a used one might work out better budget-wise.

Finding anything worthwhile at that low a price is gonna be very hard. You should only concider used with that low a budget. Even then, its gonna be hard to find good bass used for so low a price. Lower end used ESP Ltds would be my first pick.
