Good strings for chords?

I just joined an alt punk/indie band and i plan on playing some pretty melodic basslines with probably a lot of chords.

I'm thinking some lighter gauge strings, but any particular kind that would make it sound alright? I'm currently using Ernie Ball Stainless Steel Hybrids, but they don't really cut it for this. I'm also using an ATK300, if that helps.

I doubt that was enough information, but if anything I'm trying to get a nice sound like the intro this.

Thanks!

Overdriven bass chords sound quite guitar like. In my opinion the guitarists are there for the chords. We're expected to put the bas(s)(e) underneath. But if you want to do chords, a light gauge will definitely serve you. I'm thinking of d'Addario half rounds. The ENR70 set might serve the goal.

I'll agree with the earlier post about any roundwounds. Just pick your fave for these. Personally Ive found thru experience and time that the basses pups and electronics make the most difference for detail in chords. Use a bass with poor detail for dense things like chords and no string will fix that problem. Use a bass with excellent detail for dense things like chords and its just a matter of what strings give you the desired tone char for string choice.

For low bass articulation, sweet mids and excellent treble char I like DR neons the best.
