Okay, this might sound silly but I am tired of tripping over guitar cords in my living room. No matter how I route them they always seem to be under foot. I am wondering if a wireless system might help out. Not a stage environment at all and the distance from guitar to amp would be at most 15'. Any ideas?

Good wireless setup?

Should have said that I do not want to be encumbered by wearing a body pack. For me that sort of destroys the convenience of wireless. I also will be using the transmitter on my URB so I want plug and go without any cables. Thanks.
Nady makes a wireless setup that has the transmitter right on the jack that goes into the guitar. I think you have to buy the transmitter and receiver separately. It's on the guitar center website if you want to check it out. I have no idea how well it works and it runs off of a single AA battery so I don't know how long the battery lasts either. My wireless runs off of a 9v battery and lasts about 5 or 6 hours so I'm guessing about 2 hours with a double A battery.

Budget, yeah, that's sort of the point alright. Something cheap that works amazingly well would do the trick!

Cheap is not gonna afford you to avoid a body pack. May have to go used but it's still gonna cost. Don't skimp on wireless setups. The cheaper you go the more your sound will degrade. Better off using a cable. Having said that, you can get an affordable instrument wireless from Samson. Stage 55 system. Aprox. $100 from most of the online retailers. Body pack though.
I suggest a Line 6 Relay system. Fantastic products which DO NOT degrade your tone. You will have a small transmitter attached to the strap - like others have said, cheap is not going to afford you the luxury of no battery/transmitter case. It's cheap though, you will not trip on your cords, and you will love the sound.
Put the pack on your strap. If you use multiple guitars, put strap locks on them all and use the same strap.

These are the two I use. I agree with you, I hate the body pack, even on the strap it still sucks the big one. True freedom is just plugging in the little "bug-style" transmitter and going on my merry way.
Someone stated earlier that these run on one AA battery, that is incorrect. They use one AAA battery, and I've had very good luck with battery life. I can usually get a full weekend and then some out of one battery. Of course, your results will vary depending on the battery you buy, some last longer than others.
I will never go back to a cable or body pack type wireless again if I can help it.

Yea, another vote for a used G30. My transmitter is on my strap so I don't even know its there. I also hate constantly stepping on cords so I'm always wireless, even just practicing around the house.
