Double Bass Got my bow quiver today.

Got my bow quiver today. Spent a bit of time tying it on so it's secure and looks good in the process. I'm pretty pleased with the results.

Anyone else care to share how they've mounted theirs?

Like you I have a stiff leather quiver. I have a custom tailpiece made by the same people who make the Deuce Bridge, so I had more to tie my quiver to.

That said, on the quiver underneath the leather ties, I have snuck in two black zip ties through the same areas on the quiver as the leather ties attach through. The zip ties are secretly attached to the tailpiece under the leather ties and very snugly hold the quiver in place there, such that the leather ties are just for looks, they hold no tension or weight. This is good, because the leather ties tend to stretch.

I have my pre-amp and some cabling attached discretely to the back of my quiver where I have easy quick access to them, so the extra support provided by the zip ties was really a benefit.

In my experience, tying it tightly to the tailpiece leads to little creaking/squeaking noises that probably can't be heard out front, so I tie it more loosely to avoid that stick-slip noise. I also punched an additional hole in the bottom and tie to that one as well so it doesn't flop over when I lay the bass on its side.

The extra hole for stability sounds like a good idea. I'll play a few gigs with it the way it is and see how it behaves.
