I was looking for an inexpensive bass and I should have went with Ibanez first as they make great products. Instead I bought a Peavey Millennium 5 string. It arrived with paint chips and I'm glad it did, good reason to send it back. The fret work was horrible, some of the worst I've seen.
I sent it back and the company gave me $50 off a Ibanez SRX475 already on sale. It arrived with great neck, frets and finish. It has some buzz on the third fret of the E string. I'm sure I'll solve that with a professional setup.
The PRF pickups are so powerful, very punchy and much louder than other basses I've used. Works great for the two bands I play with, one 90's alternative, and the other Sabbath inspired metal.
Any rock player looking at the SRX line will not be disappointed.
