The PureAmp800 does not have the option to turn the fan off for studio work. This is because the fan control is integral to the preamp of the ONE800. That being said, the fan only comes on when it gets hot, but even then it is fairly quiet. If you need to disable the fan, then I recommend the ONE800. It is not that much more expensive. Thanks!

How have sales being going John? Since you worked at Bergantino can you compare and contrast the 12" speaker cabinets offered?

I have a GRBass 800 and I like it a lot. But I am unsure which mode the fan is currently in - is there anyway to see? I am unsure whether I have it in studio mode as I tried things out and was not sure whether it switched across to studio or stayed in Live mode.

I dont know the bergantino-speaker but I own a GR 112 cube. What I can say is that this little thing is INSANELY loud for a 1x12, has a very tight, dry and controlled bottom end which is never anemic(my old GK MB212 combo I found anemic)

This is sincerely one of the most impressive cabinets Ive ever played, previously I owned Barefaced, Mesa Subway etc. Its also a pretty balanced full range cab with just a tad colour for a smooth nice sound.

It reminds me abit of my old markbass 121p(also sizewize), but alot more powerful and much better tweeter.

Thank you Funk. I have a used Berg HDN 112 which is really impressive but I was thinking of adding a GR. They offer another 112 that I was looking at that gives a bigger bottom. I wish the GR one 800 head I have was a little warmer.

im also curious about the heads.
Which other heads did you have too compare it too? and how would you describe the native voicing compared too other class d amps?

On the ONE800, pressing the LED button for about 8 seconds allows you to select the operation mode of the fans by switching from “LIVE” to “STUDIO” and pressing it again will change it back; a brief flash of 24 LEDs visually displays the selection change.

In “LIVE” mode the fans will activate when the amplifier reaches a safe temperature threshold. In “STUDIO” mode, the fans are normally turned off; however, after several hours of use and under rather hard climatic conditions, the fans may turn on. Every time the amplifier is switched on, the operating mode is reset to “LIVE” mode.

There are a bunch of typos out there that I am trying to catch and clean up. Most came from packaged/unpackaged & conversions from Kg to Lbs, etc. So, I just weighed both of them myself, using my pretty accurate postage scale and the PureAmp800 came up as 5Lbs even and the ONE800 came up as 5Lbs., 4oz. This makes sense (as you observation pointed out that it did not make sense) because the ONE800 has a few more knob, a couple switches and a few more components, and that will account for the 4oz. difference. So, good catch and thanks for messaging me. It helps me to make sure all the info is correct.

The power module is the B&O ICE Module 300AS1 and this is used in the miniONE, ONE350 and the PureAmp350. This is a great sounding and very reliable power module.

It will depend on the output of the preamp since there is no standard output voltage. You would adjust the Input Gain to match the preamp out level, and then turn the main level up full. You will then use your preamp volume as your volume control.

No, I have not had time to write one yet, but will. It will be very short, however, about 1 page. There is almost nothing to put in the manual. I am happy to answer any questions that you have. What would you like to know?

It is that last part that is great to know - that it defaults to LIVE mode every time it is switched on!

I got some questions answered directly from GR Bass. This is from the email.

Is there a manual for the PureAmp 800?
Not becouse is only 2 pot, gai and master
Is there a schematic for the amp?
what mean for schematic? i have all.
Is the DI out after the gain knob?
yes
Is there a peak or a clip light on the amp? If not can one be added?
no
Can a Jensen transformer be added as an option on the DI out?
No becouse is a top DI. dont need other.
