Graphite neck what body?

I got a modulus graphite p-bass 1988 neck off ebay so planning to build a bass round it Question what wood for J-bass body would be best? Alder or swamp ash?

The flea's have a alder body, and honestly they sound amazing. I'm not sure how that setup would be with a whatever pickup style you're going to get.

I would personally go with the alder.

I don't know too much about tonewoods, so I can't give you a well informed reccomendation as to what body wood to use, but I do believe that graphite is rather heavy. You may have to go with a heavier wood if you plan on using a graphite neck. That is, if I'm correct.

Solid graphite necks are heavy. I believe both Modulus and Zon make necks that are hollow making them about the same weight as a regular neck, maybe even lighter. I know Zon for sure (AFAIK) and I am pretty sure about Modulus (have played a few and they feel pretty light).
