Great Interview with Nick Beggs.

Good interview. I was a big fan of Kajagoogoo back in the day and was amazed at how grooving and funky Nick's playing was. They got slagged off a lot for being pretty boys and playing pop music but that was definitely not all they were. Good songs and great playing. Nothing wrong with being a pinup and selling a ton of records! Wish I could have done that! LOL

I'm so used to seeing Nick with a smile on his face, it was strange to see all those poker face pictures in that interview. He's super funny and probably a great hang. Stories for miles I'll bet. =)

Oh my gosh I love Kajagoogoo! haha
The thing that makes their songs though for me are Nick's basslines, I love the one on "Too Shy" and "Ooh To Be Ah," "Hang On Now" is also a great example of a simple slap line with a great feel.

I remember him from here

I love that song, though the clip is a classic example of a bass player using a 'prop' bass.
Clearly Nick is playing his MM stingray on the track, but in the clip looks to be playing a what...Kramer ?

His tone on the tune below, 'Ooh to be Aah', has always knocked me out. A fantastic player with a unique approach that found perfect expression through the venerable stingray.
