Greco Guitar Device Bass

Anyone remember them?
The body similar to a MM Sterling, two jazz pickups, neck thru construction, passive electronics, flush mount strap locks, just a nub of a headstock, Steinberger bridge with tuners. French vanilla color with a pearlescent, light purple glow. Serial shows July 1988 as to when it was made.
I came across this bass in the local GC used section. I bought it because I do stupid things with alarming regularity.
On to the bass. It sounded horrible and played about as badly. I took it home, cleaned it, restrung it with Fender 7250 rounds, set the pickup heights properly, set intonation and string height.
The change was astounding! Bright, crisp and clear sounds. Low action and very good playability. This could very well be a keeper.
Does anyone have any information on this bass ? You Tube is quite limited and lord google does not know very much about it.

Pix added in a minute or two.

Would you mind telling me why you chose not to keep it? I may very well have that bass reserved at GC (east TN?) and am taking the week to think about how much I want it (or not). The one I have appears to be an 86 model unless I read the SN wrong (starts with L86) if it’s not the same one crazy chance, if it is great job on the cleaning and set up!

Brock,
Yep, that's the one I returned. The issue I had with it, was that I bought it just to see what the heck it could be if someone took good care of it. I really didn't need or want it, I just wanted to learn about it. ( I have plenty of basses, I sure don't need another!)
Yep, L6=June 86. The front could use a deep cleaning, (car wax on a rag should do it), the sound is unique, thick from the front pickup, thin from the rear pickup, and a nice blend using both. I small movement from the blend knob goes a long way. Putting foam under the pickups brought them much closer to the strings and added great depth to the sound.
Buy it and try it. If you like oddball things, you'll love this!

Hey! I think this exact bass is being listed on the guitar center website [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

I love premium build Japanese basses. I don't have much experience with headless stuff but I hear they are very even across the strings and have excellent action, intonation, and playability. Can you vouch for this feeling like a premium instrument like my Ernie ball basses or 90's ESP basses?

Yep, that's the one, but those pix are before I got it.
Build quality is quite good, but is an older bass with an unknown past.
If I were a betting man, I'd say it was close to on par with EBMM 90's basses when new, but is still very good quality 35 years later.

Buy it, I did!! :D

For the cost of shipping, it's sure worth it.
