Greeting from NW CT

Greetings all!

I've been a "lurker" for a while and finally decided to come out of my shell.

As you can tell by my "name" I do things backwards, or maybe the 99% of you do!

I am a self-taught "gutter" guitarist who was not at all playing enough music due to the demands of family and job. When my worship group lost their bass player, I volunteered to take over as I own a lefty Hagstrom II bass (a fun little thing!).

Well, now I know I have been a closet bass player all along! I enjoy "driving" the music much more than being up front! I upgraded to a Schector DeLuxe 4 lefty. Which BTW, is a WONDERFUL bass at any price. Finding a lefty on ebay in "new" condition for $300 makes it even sound better;) . I also have a Fender MIM J bass that I play less of. My poor Hagstrom has been sitting a lot on the rack:(

Then I saw an ad for a used lefty Double Bass. Granted it was a Chinese Cremona that was converted, but what the heck. So I have been playing DB for the past year and LOVING THAT!!!! (I do need to take some lessons though).

But with the DB comes the problem of carrying the monster around, so I checked out some EUBs. Wouldn't you know it, a RARE lefty AZOLA Floating Top Bug Bass II was for sale on ebay. Adopted that one last night!!!!!

As for my musical taste, I love classic 40's-50's-early 60's R&B, pre-Bitches Brew jazz and classic Chicago Blues. When I retire I would love to start/join a combo that played this stuff!

God bless!
