Greetings from Alaska

Hello All,
I learned of this forum from basscast podcast. I have been lurking as a guest for about a month.

I have been playing for about two years. I got my start when my son left his Samick and Crate practice amp in lieu of a car payment

I was a self taught 6 string strummer in a previous life.

My current primary setup is a 5 string Rogue ( Musician's Friend house brand ) through an SWR 12" combo. I play for my church which keeps me busy most Tuesdays for practice and every Saturday evening and Sunday morning and nearly every time the phone rings.

I need to take my playing to the next level and have been getting a lot of music theory and practice tips from the forums.

I listen to a all kinds of music ( except opera but I have the soundtrack to Phantom that the "not the wife" left behind ) but need to develop a discerning ear and learn to transcribe.

Yeah, I bought my goldwing in January '99. It was -19F when it was delivered. I figured ColdWing fit

hey. i too am from alaska..i personally have a crafter acoustic eletric, a traben array 4-string, and a randall rb100 amp. by the way...does anyone know where i can find a hardshell case for a 35" scale?

My Ovation acoustic/electric is also sans case. I don't travel with it much so it is rarely an issue.

I thought of getting a Randall amp for purely vanity reasons

the podcast comes out every couple of weeks with guest artists and discussions of players and samples of albums.

I think they do a great job.
