Greetings from Austria

After constantly being redirected to this forum whenever I look up anything bass related I decided to join, this seems like a nice place. I've already found lots of useful information on here and I hope that'll continue to be the case.

For my introduction, I'm in my 20s and I live in Vienna where I do office work from home for a local company and study electrical engineering. I picked up a used bass on a whim roughly 1 year ago and immediately fell in love with the instrument. I tried teaching myself/through online courses but that turned out to be a bit of a mess, so I've been attending music school for a bit over 6 months now and I've seen great progress thanks to an amazing teacher. I also build my own pedals/effects from scratch (including designing and making my own PCBs), which has been a lot of fun.

As for my current gear, home-made pedals (+ a korg tuner and an EHX 360 looper), my first bass (Yamaha TRBX 174) which is kind of terrible with a baseball bat neck and a rattly bridge, a defretted Squier JB, a Fender Rumble 410 cabinet paired with a HoTone Nano Thunder Bass and a Warwick BC 10 (which was my first practice combo). And, most importantly, a custom order Sandberg Classic Special 5 which will finally arrive in a few weeks (thanks to my amazing fiancé). I also plan on picking up an EUB and learning upright sooner or later, so expect a confused newcomer in the double bass forums.

That's it for now, see you on the forums.
