Hello all,
I’m Rob from mid-Michigan, and am getting my first bass guitar. It’s being built by a luthier near Detroit, and using components I researched here at TB (thanks!). I own several guitars, and wanted a bass to add to my arsenal of instruments for doing songwriting and recording just for my own pleasure.
I look forward to learning lots at the forums, and showing you all my bass when it’s completed.

Well, being an older man just starting his bass guitar journey, I opted for a short scale (30”) with 20 frets. Cherry wood body, red maple neck and a granadillo fretboard. Definitely a J/P!
When things start coming together, I’ll start an appropriate thread in the right forum area
