I am PlanetNewJersey, and I'm a new member here. I've been checking in on the sight for a while, but I saw this ribbon that said, "take 30 seconds to register." So I shrugged and said, "uh ok"
I'm a college student at Seton Hall University, and currently in a South Jersey instrumental prog-rock group called, "Ariables" Although I've only been playing bass for a few years, I've been playing music in general for a little over a decade or so (between piano, sax, guitar, drums, guitar again, then bass). I got into bass after I got more into music a few years ago, when I started listening more closely to my favorite bands like Muse and Dream Theater. When I heard the bass on those songs, I was like, "that's cool, I want to try that!"
On that subject, some of my favorite genres are: prog metal, "Mastodon, Dream Theater" classic metal,"Iron Maiden, Megadeth" classic prog, "Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull" alternative, "Muse, Queens of the Stone Age" classic rock, "Led Zeppelin, The Who" punk, "The Clash, AFI" jazz fusion, "Weather Report, Brand X" and sometimes classical, "Mozart, Beethoven."
