Really cool 60’s Guild 1x15 cab that I bought off the classifieds here a few years back. I replaced the cool but worn out Guild grill cloth to match a Sunn 200s head I had. It originally had a D140 in it but when I sold the Sunn, I was scared to put my Showman through that speaker. I bought two original cone K140’s here on the classifieds around the same time, and I put one in this cab. Used it with the Showman and I don’t think I’ve had a better tone to be honest. Sold the Showman to buy some higher wattage gear for a new band opportunity this fall, and I have this sweet speaker and cab just sitting. This will be killer through any 100 watt or below tube head as the K140 can handle more than the D140. A Showman, 100T, the newer Ampeg flip top heads...any would be incredible with this cab.
Cab is from my understanding identical to the Sunn 1x15 of the era...front port like half a Sunn 200s cab. Cab is surprisingly light and has casters as well as a side handle. Only downside is the Fender era 50 screws holding the back on. I think I have some pics on my phone showing the internals I can see if I can find to avoid taking all them off. Screws are not original and it appears it has holes added sometime in its 50+ year past.
I’d keep this if I saw a need for it in the future but I think I’m just going to move on to the Aguilar TH/DB world for the foreseeable future for amplification. I need to buy some IE headphones for church use, so it’s time to let this go. IMO, there is no better tone with a tube head than an alnico JBL. And this is an original cone in great shape!
$375. Willing to ship, but would love a local pickup obviously.
