Guild Bi-Sonic wiring

I was wondering about the wires on a pup I just picked up from one of the Lads here . This is going into a p bass project and I was wondering what to do with the clip & wires . For those that have installed these did you clip it off or slip the contacts out of it and extend the wires ? Is the black ground and the white positive ? Thanks !

so I went for it and it went very well . I pull the clips out of that white piece and then cut those off . They were just long enough to make it to the pot

They are not dead on but it sounds good so no worries .

Thanks, I am thinking about using a couple of these on an old build that needs a face lift. But I am not sure how the string spacing will work out on the bridge pickup.

it sounds really great , big thick tones but not overly bassy , thick and meaty with wonderful overtones . Kinda p like with a little extra 'jo . I can't compare to the original as this is my first experience with one but as I'm mostly a P guy I really dig it . I'm not getting any drop outs or odd ball issues with the string not being dead on . I set it by eye the outer strings just meet the edge of the mags and the inner strings are equally aligned . So it seems like a non issue . here is a better pic

Man, if I had to settle for a P, it'd be one with a DarkStar/BiSonic in it. Nice work!

And yeah, I learned a long time ago that the polepieces don't have to visually line up to work well.

Thanks Fellas ! Oh also I used nos disc cap and 500k Bourns pots . It's perfect , not too dark . I would not say it's hot but it's not weak either . 500k is the way to go .

just plugged it in for the first time . Has a wee bit of color and compression going in from the Meek VC1 but not too much . It's sensitive , you can hear tonal change as I move around from bridge to neck . it just gets fatter though into a tube pre or the rig but this is as raw as I could get for testing purposes .

That's it , I could have sweetened it up in mixing with the usual tricks but left it solo'd so we could get a clear idea . I may or may not adjust the mags for fun later but I think it's off to a very good start .

Did you need to tweak the rout on the pickguard at all?

I was reluctant to do it because of the pole spacing, but I think I think I may add this pickup to the arsenal for my LSP builds.

Thanks ! not at all the P/G was perfect and very high quality I added the screw holes for the mounting but the route was in the right place to allow positioning the pup where I wanted it . I especially like the shade of mint on this p/g .

The wiring thing was much easier then I was expecting but once I got the p/g you could see it would work with the body route . Though it would be no problem to solder more wire to extend those leads if you needed it longer .

Oh that was a WD p/g btw . they nailed the route and also their mint color is fantastic . Would order from again !
