Guitar Hero is entertaining to watch!

Anybody still play the first Guitar Hero? I've been playin that song Unsung by Helmet so much, totally my favorite.
I agree, there's aspects of having experience playing guitar that makes it harder to play the game correctly! Especially when strumming rhythm sections.
What a fun game, I had so many good times with the original game. I played it mainly with the guitarist in my former band, and we would often play with the same level of enthusiasm that the two guys in the Guitar Hero 2 commerical had
We played enough to become profficient in Expert mode on all songs, although the really hard ones would still trip us up from time to time. The craziest thing, I think, is that one of my roomates was just as good, and sometimes better, than us while using the CONTROLLER

Same here. I was over at the guitarist's house helping him update his Line 6 Vetta I to Vetta II (a major PITA!) and saw the box sitting in the closet. I just figured it was a toy for his son. Then he asked if I wanted to play it, and I figured what the hey? We got completely drunk and rocked out like we were on stage for real. It is definitely a good indicator of my ability to concentrate and perform while intoxicated (read: not so good)! The next day I immediately traded-in my Xbox, controllers, games, ...everything, and bought a PS2 and Guitar Hero. The rest is history!
I probably play Guitar Hero 1 & 2 about 4-5 times per week for about 1-2 hours at a time. I thought I was pretty good at both games until I uploaded my scores on scorehero.com. Last time I checked I only rank in the mid-600's on Expert in Guitar Hero 2 even after managing to 5* all but like four songs.
Oh well, it's still fun and I always manage to destroy my friends while playing head-to-head.

I was at a friend's house two weeks ago for an all-night Guitar Hero marathon. He's not bad at the game, but the face-off thing gets a little old after awhile b/c there's no chance of him beating me even if I'm on Expert and he's on Medium or Easy. So, I came up w/ the idea to switch to lefty (since I'm naturally left-handed). Even after switching, I still beat him 90% of the time with me on Hard or Expert difficulty and him on Medium!!!
He was not as amused as I was, to say the least!
