The T7 FM looks like something close to what I want. :hyper:
The coil splitting (to get closer to a Tele sound) is a bonus. Fixed bridge is a bonus too (looked at others with whammy bars). Thanks for that.
9.5" radius in familiar, as is the scale length. No learning curve - which there was with my Player Strat as it had the flatter board.
I don't mind a more modern sound. It's that 'creaminess' (even clean) that only humbuckers can do that I'm after. I'm no shredder, either.
Dammit....now I have GAS, and have to save up my pennies.

Gibson and Epiphone seem to have a thousand versions between them, at every price point, and I can't really tell one from the other. Any advice would be warmly welcomed.

I have a Tele HH, not technically it’s a Tele Deluxe. Since it’s really a Mod Shop it’s not got the Deluxe sticker. That’s my favorite bucker recording guitar because it feels good sitting better than my LP. I shielded with copper and traced the wiring to check the grounding. Love it. I also have a Parallel Universe Spark-O-Matic that’s a Jazzmaster body but has 3 mini buckers. It’s another one I use. But JMs have a lot of external noise from the bridge. Fine for chords and anything with dirt but less lovable for clean soloed.

Teles are just so easy and forgiving. Add humbuckers and you can’t go wrong.

You could always throw a single-coil-size humbucker—or two, or three—in a Strat with conventional routs. I have only ever had something like that in the neck position and didn’t like it, but that was because it sounded pretty much like a full-size neck humbucker, which I have never particularly liked either* :smug:

*in my hands. Other players make them sound great.

I had a NGD this week. But again, I can't figure out how to post photos of it.

Like most of my guitars, it's a Franken-build. This one started with an email from the STRATosphereparts.com that included a 7up green Strat body. I remembered how much I loved the 7up Green Clapton Signature Strat from back in the day. So I decided to put together a Clapton Sig, mostly. Everything is typical for the model except the pickups are Mojotone Quiet Coil 67s and the pickup selector is a ten position Freeway Switch. The neck is a 22 fret MIM modern Strat neck. And the trem is a two point bridge, in stead of the six screw vintage trem.

She's a beauty...if I can figure out how to post pics of her.

Attachment issues. I've read about that;)

In my mind's eye, no probs. She's a real beaut. I have a Blackie (imposter), suffering a similar fate (It's just a black strat from history with wiring issues:)) my mind runs away with me. I should pick it up and launch into Layla or Motherless Child or something, one of these days. The Eric in me has matured, diversified, I guess. He'll play whatever's in front of him (perhaps badly;)) whenever he has a mind to. Not a care in the world. Truth is, I didn't shoot the sheriff. Never mind. Got it in the bag:)

I love Warmoth for guitar bodies. Got this body and neck December-ish. Tried it with a push pull for humbucker splits but was not a fan of it. Tried a kill switch too. The G&L/Reverend wiring was the ticket for me.

Wanted a Clapton style strat with the mid boost. Had this am special neck languishing here for a while. Body is from Warmoth. Tried the Clapton boost kit and it did not really do anything for me. I do love these Lace Sensor Golds. Wired passive right now. I might try those diy stratoblaster kits. Color scheme is from a fender journeyman charcoal frost I saw.

I see this look and expected it to have a hardtail. After thinking about that for a minute, I realized it was reminding me of the Robert Cray Signature Strat that a friend had for a few years back around '96 - '03
