man got bent for gods

apollo did speak
"i bring truth, understanding
wit and wisdom fair"
"precious gifts i give
build a wondrous world we will
awareness is yours"
"room and board i give
Hold Your Fire to keep warm (sorry)
stay out of the cold"
"luxury and grace
my gifts to my wee brethren
turn the world around"
folks were delighted
they built many cool places
talked deep about things
not all was good though
although they were unaware
i think they were bored
wise men offered thoughts

the cities were left
the forests echoed parties
danced and lived as kin
food and wine abounds
party til they passed out cold
gods watched quietly
winter came - Bummer
they were not prepared to freeze
wolves and hunger came

universe in half
heart and mind collided hard
folks left unguided
clouds of doubts and fears
our world was torn asunder
hollow hemispheres
fighting abounded
lost and aimless like their kin
men just wandered blind
noncombatants spoke
tales of old brought to light
Rocinante flew
heart of cygnus force
our course went through timeless space
right here to this place
