Half rounds / ground-wounds with bright/scooped tone

Looking for the perfect in-between string for a Warwick Corvette fretless 5... brighter and more scooped than a flat, but not roundwound. Already have TIJFs, LTFs and Roto 77s as flatwound options and a few spare roundwound sets but maybe the middle ground (no pun intended) will work?

Btw can anyone identify a narrow-core roundwound set with grey ends? By narrow core I mean the gauge of the section that goes across the saddles & nut is the same gauge for every string...

The only half-rounds I've tried are the GHS Brite Flats, which are actually not as "bright" or "scooped" as the D'A Chromes Flats.

GHS Contact Core Super Steels are stainless steel rounds with exposed cores on all but the G and mid-grey silk only at the tuner end. But they're not the same size at the nut.

Better than the half rounds, which I used exclusively for about 15 years, are the EB Cobalt Flats. They've got the bright, detailed, almost roundish sound with that smooth noiseless feel under the fingers. Unfortunately they need to be swapped out regularly unlike other flats that can go for years, but the sound is just about exactly what you seem to be describing.
