To my biggest bass inspiration, a huge thanks! Your masterful playing has helped me learn and enjoy so much! To your good health.

To share, here are a few favorite tracks of mine.

There was a facebook post from his manager Danette Albetta. AJ has a cane these days, otherwise seems ok.

At this point I'm not expecting him to ever come back to the music scene. But I sure am glad to see him alive and well. Thanks for sharing!

Add: looks like he "did a session" the other day with Bob Franceschini! What?! :woot:

Anthony Jackson is one of the most brilliant musicians of any age. These folks are talking to him like he is a child.

I think their hearts are good, but that video bothered me.

To be fair, the people that are around him talking to him in that video are the people who are actually in his life, not us. Nearly all of us have had family members who have reached a point where you needed to simplify what you are saying and repeat it often to them for them to understand and/or remember what’s going on. I truly hope AJ isn’t at that point yet, but who knows.

Another happy birthday to one of the absolute great. Thanks for the music, Anthony.

Compared to Jameson or Jaco, it is nice to see Anthony Jackson cared for and appreciated as he ages. I often say that being a famous bassist is like being a tall midget. Bassists who gain any level of notoriety for actually being a bassist are extremely rare. At least among bassists, Anthony Jackson is a living legend.
