hard cases

looking to buy my first hard case. there appears to be 3 options out there for me: hard foam, abs and wood.
i quite like to idea of the foam one, does anyone have any thoughts on this topic. i only need a case for protection whilst travelling in the car to gigs etc, no long haul flights.
looking to spend in the region of £50

Don't cheap out on the purchase. You will own the case forever.....
I have found that a pound or two in total weight will make a noticeable difference.
