my head performes relly well for the wattage it has i need a cab i have been told to get a peavey 4x10 by some off my other friends in bands but i saw this : Link Removed and i just wanted a diffrent opinion on it because im sold but i just wanted to hear what you guys have 2 say

hartke ha2500 user needs a cheap 4x10 for death metal

These cabs are not bad ... call them decent for their price. There are better cabs (but they will be more expensive).
But I suggest that you try to find one of those used (more boom for your quids

I have the same head and I bought the Hartke 4x10 VX and its good enough for now. I basically bought this head and cabinet as a "bare minimum" to get back into the game after a long hiatus. It will be upgraded as soon as I can get a steady band going. I think you will be happy with this setup, it cuts pretty well in the mix.
I have had Peavey stuff in the past and it gets the job done for the price and they are usually built like a tank. I dont think you can go wrong at that price point with a Peavey either.

I've just checked that bassmerchant-site ... and for only £ 24 more you have a Hartke 4.5XL. Go for that one!! You won't need to upgrade later.
I actually prefer the VX to the XL cabs myself. I REALLY don't like those aluminium cones! And I'd say the 4.5XL will be upgraded out just as fast as the VX410
The Hartke you are looking at, like the Peavey has paper cones. So, you won't get that traditional Hartke aluminum sound. Honestly, I'd take Peavey if you are want paper cones. I've played through Hartke 4x10 and 15" XL, transporters back in the 80s-90's and now after a long layoff, I just picked up a 2.5XL. So I'm a Hartke fan of the alum cones.
But since that's not your choices between the two, I'd take the Peavey.

Cool, good luck. And as one last side note...I did buy the Hartke 4x10 VX with the paper cones, but this was after I had brought back in a used 1x15 XL (I think...with the aluminum cone) I have a Geddy Jazz and with that bass and the Hartke head, it was all treble! Slapping sounded great but I took it back and got the paper cones. Again, not the greatest stuff around but gigable.

old inertia has got a lot to do with the perception of paper being "warmer".
the stiffer yet lighter the material is, the less distortion there will be and the faster the response will be.
that may be a good or bad thing to your ears, but to mine, they are a good thing

I disagree HUGELY with that. Paper cones sounding warmer than aluminium (or should I say aluminum on here?) cones has a lot to do with the perception of paper being "warmer", simple as really. If you like aluminium cones, cool, keep doing your thing but just because you do, it doesn't mean people are wrong to keep using paper cones. I personally don't like aluminium cones, they sound a bit sterile to these ears, or is that just laziness too?
Aah, man, different people different tastes ... I upgraded from the VX to the XL's from Hartke and it worked for me
I only try to spread the news that I am happy with it
I play in a hardcore band and it really fits right in our sound ...
I'm not saying one or the other is better, but saying that the opinion that paper cones sound warmer is a myth brought about by laziness? Thats ridiculous.
